Charm (CHA)

Charm is used to persuade and charm others into doing your bidding. Charm is not used to mislead or outright lie. White lies and overt flattery are fine if the point is not the lie, but instead used to come across as more likable. Like trying to convince a Hideous Troll that he has a heart of gold and shouldn't pull your pals legs off for fun.

Common Uses

By using Charm, you can make people like you. Usually, a creature will be more receptive to your diplomatic efforts if they don't have a negative starting attitude towards you. Most of the time, if a creature is hostile towards you, charm will have no effect at all, though you are more likely to succeed on such efforts when the hostile creature is more approachable and capable of understanding you (for example, you will have much better luck rolling Charm against a hostile Human Pirate than a hostile Red Dragon!).

You cannot use Charm against a creature that does not understand you, or has an Intelligence of 3 or less. Using this skill is typically a Full Action, at minimum.
