Alvion: Drugs

The following is a list of addictive drugs which are found in the Alvion campaign setting. This list excludes the universal staples, such as tobacco and alcohol. Taking any of these drugs immediately gives you a Mild Addiction, as the Drawback. Certain drugs in this list may be harder to shake than others, which will be noted in their effects. Using a Drug is a Half Action unless otherwise stated.


Fairy

Fairy looks like glittery pink powder. It's common to dip foods in it to ingest the drug. Supposedly made by refining a pink flower native to the Feywild.

  • Duration: 1 hour per dose
  • Effect: Can roll all social skills (Bluff, Diplomacy, Intimidate) twice and take the better result. Once per use, can cast Suggestion as a Spell-Like ability (though this is hard to discern, just looks like your natural charisma).
  • Addiction DC: +2

Fixer

Fixer comes in the form of alchemical slap-patches, and are relatively simple to create.

  • Duration: 1 hour per dose
  • Effect: Gain DR 10 for the duration. This damage reduction applies to energy damage as well.
  • Addiction DC: +2

Giant's Chew

This chewing tobacco is a powerful steroid that makes the user feel invincible, and in some ways the weed's improvement of a creature's physical might makes that a reality.

  • Duration: 1 hour per dose
  • Effect: +4 Strength, Dexterity, and Constitution. In addition, you gain a Barrier equal to your Hit Die which refreshes every round.

Reaper

Reaper comes in alchemical syringes that must be injected into the subject to gain the effects. Reaper is known to induce insanity in concurrent use.

  • Duration: 10 minutes
  • Effect: All attacks (any effect requiring an attack roll) gains +5 to the damage, of the same type as the attack. You also become immune to hostile mind-affecting effects.
  • Addiction DC: +5
  • Note: At Addiction Level of Severe, you also gain the Fey-Touched Drawback. Visions induced by Reaper tend to be far more violent and less benign than typical cases of Fey-Touched.

Runner

This powdery drug is synthesized through a complex chemical process. It uses sieved particles from the elemental plane of air to provide the user with a very real high.

  • Duration: 1 minute
  • Effect: User gains the benefits of Haste (stacks with the spell) and Evasion. If the user already has Evasion, they gain the Improved variant instead.
  • Addiction DC: +10

Vamp

Vamp comes in the form of cigarettes wrapped in a bright red wrapping paper. It's said that the vampires themselves make it for profit, and that its common to be puffing one if you need to meet with one of those bastards.

  • Duration: 12 hours
  • Effect: You become immune to sleep for the duration, natural or of spell-like nature. When you come off of Vamp, you crash for 8d6 hours, though you can extend the effect forever if you choose.

Wizard-Tacs

Typically coming in a small box, “Tacs” as they are commonly named are small purple tablets intended for chewing. They provide the user with an incredible sharpening of their mental and magical prowess, and are known for their pleasant taste.

  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Effect: Spell saving throw DCs increase by 2 across the board. User gains +10 to Perception checks. Lastly, if you have any Initiation, you gain one spell known of your choice for the duration, as long as you could normally cast it.
