The Second Age
Known amongst Dwarven scholars as the Age of Halls, this era mark the peak of Dwarvish might amongst the races of Alvion. By Human scholars, and those descended from Meracydian teachings, this time is known as the Age of Kings. This era is characterized by the rise and fall of the Dwarves, the end of the Last War, and the fallout of the Arcanum Dissolae.
| Year | Notable Event |
|---|---|
| 1 | A contingent of Meracydians who survived the Last War make landfall in Southwest Alvion, and found the kingdom of Carthen. The bloodline of these surviving Meracydians would retain notably longer life than other Humans who had come before. |
| 5 | A powerful ritual performed by the Pax Arcanum is performed, which severely limits the strength of magic as it manifests upon the Material Plane. |
| 20 | Diplomatic relations are established between Carthen and Erdan. Royal offspring of each kingdom marry one another, creating a thorough alliance. |
| 50 | Dragons are largely blamed for the Last War, and a coalition of Men, Elves, and Dwarves forms to hunt down and slay them. Many Dragons fled into hiding during this time, as the combined might of the three races was too much to oppose. |
| 100 | A large clan of Human mercenaries establishes a stronghold in the frozen North to combat and hunt down the Orcs, which have begun emerging from the Black Mountains. Their longhall is named Kylhelm. |
| 162 | An Erdan nobleman founds the City-State of Hrollo on the Eastern bounds of Alvion. In Common, this city is known as Eastcliff. It serves as a valuable point of trade between Erdan and Kylhelm. |
| 170 | Little folk come seemingly out of holes in the ground in the rolling shires outside of Eastcliff, and are called Halflings. They form a sturdy friendship with the Men of the East. |
| 307 | The ruler of Carthen, known later as Good King Jericho, is crowned at the age of 26. He would become famous for his diplomatic efforts amongst the folk of Alvion, and the kingdom of Carthen proposed under his reign. |
| 368 | King Jericho begets two sons through union with queen Efritae of Erdan - Eli and Sefar. |
| 369 | A mysterious coup is led in Carthen, and while Sefar is secured in Erdan by his mother, Prince Eli disappears. Lord Hurin takes over as reagent. |
