Elf Racial Talents
Art for Art's Sake
- Requirements: Elf, Craft or Artistry (Any) 1, 10 Experience
Elves are known to spend their very long lives pursuing their passions, which often lie in the creation of works of art. Though beautiful, they lack the practicality of other races. Elves with this Racial Talent may add two separate mental ability scores to a single specifically chosen Craft or Artistry skill. For example, a Elf may select Craft (Statue), and choose to add their Wisdom alongside their Intelligence to checks with that skill. It is unusual, and not recommended, for an Elf to leverage this Talent for frivolous mortal pursuits such as running businesses and making coin.
You may purchase this Talent as many times as you wish, selecting a new specific Craft or Artistry each time.
Dreamspeaker
- Requirements: Elf, Knowledge (Planes) 5, 10 Experience
A few elves have the ability to tap into the power of sleep, dreams, and prescient reverie. An Elf with this Racial Talent may cast Dream once every 24 hours as a spell-like ability. Notably, they may also communicate to other Elves with this Talent.
Drow Ancestry
- Requirements: Elf, Perception 5, 20 Experience
Though uncommon, some groups of elves are born with darkvision. In many cases this is taken as a sign of a Drow in the Elf’s ancestry, and can lead to persecution within the Elf’s home community. Elves with this racial trait gain darkvision with a range of 60 feet.
Graceful Gait
- Requirements: Elf, Acrobatics 20, 25 Experience
You move with an unnatural, yet ethereal and beautiful grace. You now ignore difficult terrain, and you may move across the thinnest of surfaces, such as snow, ice, mud, quicksand, and small tree branches, but not true liquids or lava. Furthermore, you do not take damage from surfaces which cause harm by being touched, such as caltrops on the floor, nor do you need to make an Acrobatics check to pass over slippery or rough surfaces (magical or not). Lastly, you never unintentionally trigger mechanical traps which utilize a location-based trigger.
This Talent counts as Woodland Stride for any Talents or other abilities which require Woodland Stride, or for effects which interact with Woodland Stride.
Detached Diplomacy
- Requirements: Elf, Bluff OR Diplomacy OR Intimidate 10, 30 Experience
Your ageless wisdom provides a unique perspective on negotiating with the “mayflies,” which certainly helps with staying level-headed and logical. You may now use Intelligence in place of Charisma for Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate, chosen upon selection of this Talent.
You may buy this Talent multiple times - it applies to a new skill each time. You must possess the requisite 10 skill ranks to select the skill in question.
High-Elven
- Requirements: Graceful Gait, 100 Experience
You manifest the true aspect of your Elven forefathers - you are now immortal, and due to this you no longer risk dying of old age, and you do not suffer from age-related penalties to your Physical Ability Scores.
Lore-Master
- Requirements: Elf, Knowledge (Arcana) 5, 20 Experience
Some Elves are particularly adept at identifying and spotting magic where others fail to look. You gain Detect Magic as a constant spell-like ability, with a caster level equal to your HD, if you lack a CL.
Silent Hunters
Elves are renowned for their subtlety and skill. Elves with this Talent reduce the penalty for using Stealth while moving by 5, and can make Stealth checks while running at a –20 penalty (this number includes the penalty reduction from this Talent)
