Upon casting this spell, the target of the spell receives a Will save. If the Will save succeeds, nothing happens. If the Will save is failed, the spell probes the mind of the target creature, locating their closest family member (this may be via blood or personal attachment, at GM discretion). If the target possesses no such family member or suitable loved one, the spell affects the target instead. Upon locating the loved one in question, that creature is subjected to the effects of [[priority:magic:spells:tier7:destruction|Destruction]], as the spell. This effect transcends planes, and may only be blocked by divine intervention. The family member targeted by the Destruction effect may potentially survive if they succeed on the saving throw of the Destruction spell as normal. Lastly, and most notably, the original target creature of Kinslayer receives a vision, detailing the destruction of their family member or loved one in vivid detail, through a perspective indicating that they are the ones causing the effect. Should the kin of the target creature die to the Destruction effect, the target creature must make another Will saving throw against the DC of this spell, or be staggered from grief for 1d6 rounds.
