A Pensive is typically constructed from a simple bowl and Holy Water, though may be more elaborate and otherwise protectively enchanted. A Pensive radiates an increasingly powerful aura of Divination, in accordance with the amount of memories stored within. A creature must be willing to impart a memory to the Pensive, or otherwise compelled to do so through mind-affecting magic. When you place a memory into a Pensive, the memory is removed from that creature - they may know that the memory is stored within, but not what it is about. |
