| This tome serves as a place to record your Formulae, for use with Potion brewing or Scroll scribing. Within a Formula Book, you may store a cumulative total of twenty spells of Tier 0. If you masterwork a Formula Book, it gains Tiers of Spell space equal to its Masterwork Tier * 10, and may now record Spells of one Tier higher. Meaning that in order to record Tier 1 Spells, the Formula Book must be Masterwork 1 or better. | This tome serves as a place to record your Formulae, for use with Potion brewing or Scroll scribing, primarily. You may also store other magic item Formulae inside of these tomes. A Formula Book can contain 1 Spell Tier, therefore a 4th Tier spell, such as Greater Invisibility, would require 4 Formula Books to create a Formula Library to create a Potion or Scroll of Greater Invisibility. |
| |
| For example, if Jacob purchases a Masterwork 3 Formula Book at Character Creation for 68 TU, that book may record spells up to Tier 3, and it possesses space for a cumulative total of 70 Spell Tiers of space. Adding Haste to this book would consume 3 Tiers of space (leading to a new available space of 67), adding Mage Armor would consume 1, and so on. Tier 0 Spells count as half a Tier (0.5) for this purpose. | When using a Formula Book to store another magic item Formula consult with your GM about how many books are required to store the schematics. |
| | |
| You may freely use a Formula Book to make Scrolls or Potions - the Formulae are identical for this purpose. If you did not write the Formula Book (such as if you find one during a campaign), you may need to translate it, using priority:magic:spells:tier0:read_magic and/or priority:skills:spellcraft. | |

Any handheld object of 25 lbs. or less may be placed on the scale - doing so grants you a +1 equipment bonus on Appraise checks for that object. | This set of scales is made of brass, and may assist in determining the value of objects. | | Spellbook's can be made from many different substances from the most mundane to very exotic. The base price assumes more mundane materials were used like wood or leather. A Spellbook made with other materials may have additional costs and weight along with alternate properties (decide exact costs, weights, and properties with your GM) This hefty book contains enough pages to store 250 spell tiers inside with proper knowledge and training. It does not include any equipment required to scribe new spells, those are sold separately. |
