When you cast this spell, choose an alignment axis: Chaos, Evil, Good, or Law, for it to function against. You may choose individually for each creature affected, or apply the same protection to all creatures.

A pattern of colors surrounds the subjects, protecting them from attacks, granting them resistance to spells cast by creatures of the chosen alignment, and causing creatures of that type that strike the subjects to become stunned. This abjuration has four effects:

• First, each warded creature gains a +4 deflection bonus to AC and a +4 resistance bonus on saves. Unlike Protection, the benefit of this spell applies against all attacks, not just against attacks by creatures of the chosen alignment.
• Second, each warded creature gains spell resistance 25 against spells of the chosen alignment, and spells cast by creatures of that alignment.
• Third, the abjuration protects from possession and mental influence of the chosen alignment, just as Protection does.
• Fourth, if a creature of the chosen alignment succeeds on a melee attack against a warded creature, the offending attacker is stunned for 1 round (Will negates).
