=====Down Time===== Down time happens when not actively adventuring. Often it is happening in the background like going to your office job, getting groceries, or organizing your room. ====Crafting==== Spending 8 hours a day crafting is a downtime activity. (12 hours may be spent if eating a full meal every day) ====Work==== Spending 8 hours a day working is a downtime activity. This contributes to Lifestyle, generally. (12 hours may be spent if eating a full meal every day) ====Hunting==== Spending 4 hours a day allows for a survival check to be made to gather food for the day. Extra food may be shared or converted to preserved food by spending an additional 50% time. You may spend 8 hours to double the food gathered. (This requires 12 total hours to convert the extra into preserved food unless eaten in the same day.) ====Training==== After training a selected skill you may spend 40 hours to raise it by one point. This training may only raise a selected skill up to a maximum of 10. You may spend up to 12 hours a day Training if well fed. ====Scavenging==== This downtime activity allows a player to gather resources or acquire random loot. ====Research==== Research is used to unlock new formula, blueprints or other information. Generally this research is done from written sources or experimentation. It is never used to gather information that would be better learned talking to locals. ====Shopping==== Spending 8 hours shopping allows a Diplomacy, Bluff or Intimidate check to be made to negotiate prices, but does not require the sale to go through unless the player accepts the offered price. ====Socialize==== You may spend time per day speaking to locals, experts or specific members of society to gain knowledge. The Gather information skill roll under Diplomacy is often used in this way. It often takes 1, 2, 4, or 8 hours depending on what information is being acquired. ====Recovery==== A character may focus on mental, physical, or emotional recovery. This allows a character to heal or regenerate at x2 speed. If a character selects recovery at full HP or has no ability damage they may instead be treated as have consumed cheer food for the next 24 hour period.
